About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Cosmic Lama is an experimental world fusion and psychedelic electronic music duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Jordan Young and Ben Robertson. With a creative partnership spanning over a decade, the duo operates with a profound synergy to curate immersive, multi-sensory sonic experiences. Drawing inspiration from psychedelic pioneers such as Shpongle, Younger Brother, Ott, and Kalya Scintilla, Cosmic Lama occupies a unique, mid-tempo sonic architecture. Their sound bridges the hypnotic, introspective depths of Psydub with the driving kinetic energy of psychedelic trance.

Rooted in the belief that music possesses the power to heal, inspire, and connect, their studio productions weave intricate digital soundscapes with ancient global rhythms. This meticulous sonic alchemy is showcased in their 2026 debut release, Llama or Lama, and the ethereal seven-minute single, "Take This Moment." Their upcoming concept album, Songs From The Fridge, further expands their sonic boundaries, exploring their eclectic roots in jazz, blues, and funk within a futuristic, distinctly danceable framework.

Beyond their studio work, Cosmic Lama is highly regarded for their Live Hybrid Transmissions—theatrical performances that transcend traditional boundaries. Bringing an eccentric and adventurous spirit to the stage, Jordan and Ben seamlessly blend digital mixing, loop pedals, and Ableton sequences with a massive array of organic instrumentation. Their live shows feature the duo weaving electronic beats with primal didgeridoos, majestic native flutes, tribal and Amazonian percussion, electric and bass guitars, live vocals, and soul-shaking singing bowls. Grounding their high-tech psychedelic carnival in human spontaneity, they famously incorporate the signature rhythmic croak of a little wooden frog, creating an unforgettable sonic journey beyond the ordinary.
